Organotin-induced hyperglycemia in the crab, Oziotelphusa senex senex Fabricius.

چکیده
Injection of three different organotin compounds such as tripalmitin, fentin and fenbutatin produced a significant increase in the hemolymph sugar level of intact crabs at Oziotelphusa senex senex apparently by stimulating release of the hyperglycemic hormone (HGH).

On the mode of action of methionine enkephalin, FK 33-824 and naloxone in regulating the hemolymph glucose level in the fresh water field crab Oziotelphusa senex senex.
The possible involvement of opioid system in the regulation of hemolymph glucose level in the fresh water crab Oziotelphusa senex senex Fabricius, was investigated. Opioid agonist and antagonist was also used in addition to methionine-enkephalin itself. Injection of the opioid, methionine-enkephalin and FK 33-824 significantly elevated hemolymph glucose level. In contrast, injection of naloxone...
متن کاملRole of vertebrate steroids in the regulation of testicular development in the fresh water crab, Oziotelphusa senex senex
Background: Crustacean reproduction is under the control of various peptide and steroid hormones including vertebrate steroids. In the present study, we examined the role of vertebrate steroids, progesterone and 17βestradiol in the regulation of testicular development in the crab Oziotelphusa senex senex. Methods: The crabs were divided into eight groups, first group served as initial control a...
متن کاملStress-induced premature senescence mediated by a novel gene, SENEX, results in an anti-inflammatory phenotype in endothelial cells.
Cellular senescence is a mechanism to inhibit the growth of mammalian cells after oncogenic activation, or in response to damage or stress. We describe here the identification of a novel gene, SENEX, that regulates stress induced premature senescence pathways in endothelial cells (ECs) involving p16(INK4a) and retinoblastoma protein activation. Endogenous levels of SENEX remain unchanged during...
متن کاملA Novel Cellular Senescence Gene, SENEX, Is Involved in Peripheral Regulatory T Cells Accumulation in Aged Urinary Bladder Cancer
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play an essential role in sustaining self-tolerance and immune homeostasis. Despite many studies on the correlation between Tregs accumulation and age, or malignancies, the related mechanism hasn't been well explored. To find out the mechanism of Tregs accumulation in aged urinary bladder cancer, we examined the novel cellular senesence gene SENEX and relevant apoptos...
